Vintage Dress and Dancing

Today, vintage dress and dancing isn't a regular thing, but sometimes we're treated to the unique opportunity to reinact and dress part of history too. This weekend is one of those opportunities... with Memorial Day a part of the upcoming weekend, The Green Door is hosting a vintage swing dance. On Saturday, you can wear your vintage duds and show off your knowledge or original swing fashion. Need to beef up that knowledge?

No problem. Here's where to look:
  1. Check out Fair2y Godmother's in Mechanicsburg 17 W Main StMechanicsburg, PA 17055(717) 795-8100
  2. Visit the best place for new retro swing attire - www.dancestore.com
  3. Surf your way to www.retrowardrobe.com/ for a ton of online options for men and women
  4. Go rockabilly with www.daddyos.com/retro/retroldy.html
  5. Fingercurls for hair are tough to do but you can learn the stp by step at www.nocturne.com/swing/hair/hair.html
  6. Celebrate your military heritage and come in retro military attire. Visit www.vintagetrends.com for the scoop.

There are a ton of other online resources for improving your historic awareness. Afterall, in swing, we are celebrating over half a decade of American history. Isn't it great!

I just wanted to add if anyone is looking for vintage products (furniture, appliances and such) the Atomic Warehouse is in downtown Harrisburg. It has some neat stuff but expect to pay a pretty penny!
